New Release Round-Up (June 8, 2023)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


Diablo IV

Diablo IV is the latest title in Blizzard’s hack-and-slash action RPG series. The game is set fifty years after the events of the Diablo III: Reaper of Souls expansion pack and sees players controlling a character prophecised to defeat the daughter of Mephisto, Lilith, after she is summoned by cultists. It requires players to be always online.


Dungeon Travelers 2: The Royal Library & the Monster Seal

Platform: PC (previously released on PlayStation Vita)

Dungeon-crawler Dungeon Travelers 2: The Royal Library & the Monster Seal is set in the kingdom of Romulea, where monsters have started an uprising against humanity. Players control Fried, an adventurer sent to quell the uprising by building a party from sixteen potential female members who can be rescued, defeated, or otherwise recruited.


Dungeon Travelers 2-2: The Fallen Maidens & the Book of Beginnings

Dungeon Travelers 2-2: The Fallen Maidens & the Book of Beginnings is a “what if?” sequel to Dungeon Travelers 2. It takes place in a world where Fried and his allies were defeated by the final boss. Following the kingdom’s fall to darkness, a mage discovers an amnesiac Fried, who sets out on a journey to recover his allies.


Harmony: The Fall of Reverie

Platform: PC, Nintendo Switch

Harmony: The Fall of Reverie is a visual novel narrative adventure that follows Polly as she returns home to the near-future Mediterranean island of Atina to search for her mother. Upon her arrival, she learns of the connected realm of Reverie and its Aspirations of Humanity. She is told that she needs to restore the troubled realm and its balance, in the process cementing which Aspiration gets to rule over it. The game is also planned to release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on June 22, 2023.


Loop8: Summer of Gods

Loop8: Summer of Gods is billed as a coming-of-age adventure, and is set in a world where the Kegai have brought humanity close to extinction. It follows Nini as he returns to Ashihara, one of humanity’s last sanctuaries. His special “Demon Sight” ability allows him to reset the world, letting him and his allies relive their summer until they manage to defeat the Kegai or are completely defeated.
