Hammerwatch II Releasing on PC in August

Modus Games announced that Crackshell’s hack-and-slash action RPG Hammerwatch II will release for PC on August 15, 2023. A console release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch will follow later in the year. The announcement comes alongside the release of a demo on Steam as part of Steam Next Fest.

Modus Games also announced that a special Hammerwatch II: The Chronicles Edition is available to pre-order now at various retailers for consoles (and will also be available digitally) for $39.99. The edition includes a remastered version of the first Hammerwatch game as well as additional character color palettes, facial items, and the character voice pack.

Hammerwatch II is a follow-up to 2013 title Hammerwatch and sees players controlling members of King Roland’s resistance after Blight the Horrible and his dragon army succeed in overthrowing the king and bringing ruin to the Kingdom of Herian. The game will include solo and co-op play for up to four players as they travel the kingdom undertaking various quests. It will feature five character classes — Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Wizard, and Warlock — as well as new day/night cycles, a map editor, and mod support at launch.
