Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 Details Leader Skills, Story Decisions

CyberConnect2 provided new details and images for its upcoming Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2. The update covers the game’s new leader skills, potential story-affecting choices, and introduces a few new characters.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 retains the tank-based combat of the previous title. The party’s members, all of whom are children, are placed at gun turrets and attack with their individual weapon types, which are effective against certain enemies, with formation management being a key part of combat. Each party member has their own personal skills, with the sequel adding new skills. Included in these are brand new Leader Skills obtained by Malt. These activate randomly during battle and provide effects including powerful recovery and buffs.

Leader Skills are obtained through new judgment values. These are impacted by Malt’s choices during the game, and affect which Leader Skills he gains. In addition, different story episodes are triggered based on Malt’s judgment values and can affect the ultimate fate of the children, particularly Malt.

The three new characters introduced are Shayne Muscat, Merlot, and Cannelle Muscat. Shayne Muscat is the new de facto head of Gasco and new major character Vanilla’s father. He is a pacifist whose wife was killed in an accident a year ago that left him with severe burns. Merlot is the supreme commander of the Gasco Army. Although gruff, he has a soft spot for children and is a close friend to Shayne. Finally, Cannelle Muscat is Shayne’s eldest daughter and Vanilla’s elder sister. She is a lieutenant in the Gasco Army and Merlot’s right-hand officer.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is set a year after the previous game and sees half of the children trapped inside the Taranis after it goes berserk, with the remaining children setting out in the Tarascus on a rescue mission. Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 will release worldwide on May 11, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch
