Disgaea 7 Demo Available in Japan, Character Trailers Released

Nippon Ichi Software has released a demo for tactical RPG Disgaea 7 in Japan. The demo is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. It lets players access up to the second chapter of the game, with save progress transferable to the full game, which launches in the country on January 26, 2023.

In addition, the company release the first batch of a series of Japanese character trailers for the game. The three video released so far feature Fuji, Pirikia, and Wey-yasu. As previously detailed, Fuji is a lazy samurai in the Hinomoto Netherworld Cluster and is allergic to human emotions. Meanwhile, Piririka admires manga and movies as well as the Bushido of Hinamoto, while being the CEO of a popular clothing company. Finally, Wey-yasu is the lazy and narcissistic Shogun of the Oedo Shogunate, but lacks any real power.

Finally, Nippon Ichi Software released the fourth entry in its series of introduction videos to the game. The six-minute video introduces Demonic Intelligence and the game’s auto-battle system, which has been upgraded from the previous entry.

Disgaea 7 takes place in the Hinomoto Netherworld Cluster, a netherworld inspired by Japanese culture that is losing its “Bushido” lifestyle after being taken over by the corrupt Oedo Shogunate. The story follows lazy samurai Fuji and Hinomoto otaku Piririka, who collect an odd assortment of allies as they search for the Seven Weapons of Origin in order to defeat the Shogunate. No announcement has been currently made regarding a western release.
