Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters Introduces More Characters, Gameplay Details

Idea Factory International provided some more details for its upcoming release Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters. The update introduces five new characters appearing in the game, as well as its photo mode, arena, and “limitless dungeon”.

Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters sees the four younger goddess candidate sisters from the mainline series — Nepgear, Uni, Rom, and Ram — awakening to find that a new smartphone model, the rPhone, has taken over their share of the games market with Nepgear’s older sister Neptune now missing while Trendi Outbreaks cause large groups of monsters to appear. Maho is a skilled software developer who always has a smartphone in her hand, while Anri is a software engineer from the PC continent. The two join forces to investigate the Trendi Outbreaks.

Meanwhile, Grey Sister is an unknown goddess. She is responsible for sealing the goddess candidate sisters in a hidden sleep chamber for two years. Higurashi is a friendly girl from the PC continent, currently on a mission to find everything cute across the nation of Planeptune. Finally, Shanghai Alice is a down-to-earth girl, also from the PC continent. After her visit to Planeptune was ruined, she lives day-to-day.

Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters will come with its own photo mode, where players can control character positioning, backgrounds, actions, and more to create their own pictures featuring the game’s cast. The game will also include its own challenge Arena, where players fight in consecutive battles to obtain rewards. There are various ranks to work through, each with their own levels. By completing a three-round battle, players advance levels before reaching a special promotion battle to go up to the next rank. Finally, the Neptral Tower is a separate challenge dungeon. Players advance through its floors, searching for the gates that let them go to the next level. Every tenth floor, there is a boss fight, with the dungeon rewarding players with powerful items and lots of experience points.

Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters launched in Japan earlier this year and is planned to release in North America and Europe for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in early 2023. Limited Editions are planned for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions, with details to revealed at a later date.
