There Is No Light Receives Release Window

Developer Zelart and publisher HypeTrain Digital’s upcoming action RPG There Is No Light has received a new trailer and release window. The game, which underwent a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2020, is slated to release for PC in September 2022. It will be available via Steam, GOG.com, and the Epic Games Store, with a playable demo available via Steam until June 20, 2022.

There Is No Light is a post-apocalyptic pixel-art action RPG and is set in a world where humanity has been all but eradicated by a catastrophe. The remaining humans have been driven underground where they are ruled by the Church of the Great Hand. Players take on the role of a father attempting to save his child who’s been taken by the Church for a mysterious ritual. Players must explore the game world, listen to the stories of survivors, and vanquish hordes of bloodthirsty demonic creatures in order to save the child. The game features a non-linear narrative emphasizing player choice and over 70 enemy types and bosses. Combat lets players switch between four different weapon types on the fly, each with its own skill tree, and encourages an aggressive playstyle via a skill system that requires attacking to build up rage.
