Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten Gets Worldwide PC Release

DMM Games and ShiraVune announced that they are releasing a PC version of Aquaplus’ Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten worldwide. The PC version will launch via Steam on September 8, 2022, the same date as its Japanese PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 release. The PC version will feature English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese text support with Japanese voice overs. Those who purchase it before December 31, 2022, will receive a digital art booklet and 30-track “Prelude” soundtrack selection.

In addition, Aquaplus provided more information and media for the game. Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten acts as a prequel to Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception, and tells the story of major character Oshtor. At the time of the game, Oshtor is living with his mother and sister in a province of the Yamato Empire and investigates a matter for the local lord, during which he comes across a girl named Shunya. She tells him that his father, thought to have been killed, is still alive, joining Oshtor as he sets off on a journey to the unmapped land of Arva Shulan to uncover the truth.

The game is confirmed to feature at least two other returning characters from Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception who join up as Oshtor’s allies. Munechika is the daughter of a local lord and acts polite but becomes a fearsome warrior in combat. Mikazuchi is an honourable young fighter who crashed one of Oshtor’s training sessions and acts as a friendly rival to him.

Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten game eschews the series’ previous mix of visual novel event scenes with tactical combat, with players exploring areas on foot while combat is a more traditional party-based system. Events also appear set to primarily use the in-game engine.
