New Release Round-Up (March 24, 2022)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


Ghostwire: Tokyo

Action adventure title Ghostwire: Tokyo takes place in a supernatural foggy Tokyo, where the populace has been replaced by creatures called Visitors. The game follows Akito, a young man who ends up sharing his body with ghost hunter K.K. as they explore the deserted streets looking for Akito’s sister and the hannya mask-wearing man responsible for what’s going on. Relayer

Tactical RPG Relayer is set in the year 2051 as humanity finds itself under invasion from an alien force called Relayer. Certain humans called Starchildren begin to discover unique powers bestowed upon them and become the only ones capable of piloting Stellar Gear, large mechs that are humanity’s sole answer to the Relayer.


Rune Factory 5

Rune Factory 5 is the latest title in the Bokujō Monogatari spin-off series and combines the parent series’ farming sim elements with action RPG combat and exploration. Players control an amnesiac protagonist who ends up in a small nature-surrounded town. They elect to join the town guard — known as Seed — to help protect the peace, spending their time adventuring with companions, growing crops on the farm, fishing, and building relationships with the townspeople.

Top-down sci-fi action RPG The Ascent is set in a corporation-run arcology following the collapse of the Ascent Group that owned the city and all of its denizens. This causes the automated security to run haywire, while other corporations and gangs look to assert control. Players investigate exactly what happened, ascending the arcology while improving their character’s skill and picking up loot.


Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a first-person looter shooter spin-off to Borderlands. Players adventure through a chaotic tabletop realm brought to life by Tiny Tina, creating a hero fighting for her royal majesty the bicorn Queen Butt Stallion.
