Live A Live Trailer Introduces Its Protagonists

Nintendo released a new trailer for Square Enix’s upcoming Live A Live Remake. The new video highlights the game’s eight stories, each featuring a different main protagonist and taking place at a different point in time: Pogo (Prehistory), the Sundown Kid (the Wild West), Shifu (Imperial China), Oboromaru (Edo Japan), Masaru Takahara (present day), Akira (near future), Cube (distant future), and Oersted (the Middle Ages).

Live A Live was released for Super Famicom in Japan in 1994 and has not previously been released in the west. The game features a turn-based combat system and the main scenarios can be played in any order, with each including its own gameplay gimmicks. The remake utilises the HD-2D graphical style used in Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy, and will release globally on Nintendo Switch on July 22, 2022.
