Live A Live HD-2D Remake Releasing in July
Nintendo and Square Enix announced a remake of previously Japan-only Super Famicom RPG Live A Live. The remake utilises the HD-2D graphical style used in Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy, and will release globally on Nintendo Switch on July 22, 2022.
Live A Live was released in Japan in 1994. The game features seven different stories, with different protagonists, taking place across various time periods. These can be played in any order, with the stories including a wanderer in the Wild West with a bounty on his head fighting for his life and a shinobi in Edo Japan undertaking a secret mission. The game features a turn-based combat system with each scenario including its own gameplay gimmicks.
