Monster Hunter Stories 2 Third Update Trailer Released

Capcom released a new trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin’s Update 3 ahead of its release on September 2, 2021. The video shows the new additions in the free update, including new Monsties Soulseer Mizutsune, Elderfrost Gammoth, and Oroshi Kirin. A fourth update will release in late September and feature a new high-difficulty co-op quest with Kulve Taroth, while a fifth and final update will launch in October 2021 and add Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian, as well as a new challenging co-op quest featuring a yet-to-be-revealed monster.

A follow-up to Nintendo 3DS title Monster Hunter Stories, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is a turn-based spin-off to the Monster Hunter series and available now on PC and Nintendo Switch. The game puts players in the role of a young Monster Rider able to form bonds with monsters using a Kinship Stone. They encounter returning characters Lilia and Reverto, who are attempting to capture the player’s Razewing Ratha companion before it awakens a prophecised destructive power called the Wings of Ruin. However, a group of Riders and Hunters are also working to capture Razewing Ratha for their own purposes.
