The Wicked King and the Noble Hero Gets More Details, Media

Nippon Ichi Software released more details and media for the upcoming title The Wicked King and the Noble Hero. The game is a new RPG from Sayaka Oda, creator of The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince, and follows a human child named Yuu and the dragon that acts as her foster parent.

The Wicked King and the Noble Hero is divided into chapters. These chapters include Yuu helping a fox called Conco find a pink flower to help cure his family, a conflict between the honey bears and the honeybees, and a human getting lost on a mountain. In addition to helping characters as part of the story, Yuu is able to lend her assistance to NPCs, which are marked on the map with red speech bubbles.

Yuu can be joined by companions, who can help her with their own abilities. For example, Conco can dig up soil to find items in the ground, Sacasa can get treasure chests in otherwise impossible-to-reach places, and Flora can use her umbrella to ride the wind. Yuu and her allies can also learn special abilities to use in battle. These abilities require and use up energy, which is slowly recovered each turn.

The Wicked King and the Noble Hero is being developed for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The game will be released in Japan on June 24, 2021. No announcement has been made regarding a western release at this time.
