PlayStation 3, Vita Digital Stores to Remain Open

After announcing last month that it would be shutting down the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation Portable digital stores, Sony has now stated that two of the storefronts will remain operational. In a PlayStation.Blog post, Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO Jim Ryan stated that, due to overwhelming user feedback, the company will keep the PlayStation Store open on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

The PlayStation Portable digital store, however, is still scheduled to be retired. Players will be able to continue purchasing new content for the handheld until July 2, 2021, as previously planned.
