Trails of Cold Steel III is designed as a potential entry point for new players, with Trails of Cold Steel IV acting as a direct sequel and conclusion to the Erebonia story arc. Trails of Cold Steel III launched for PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2017 and in North America and Europe in 2019, with PC and Nintendo Switch versions following in 2020. Trails of Cold Steel IV was released for PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2018 and in North America and Europe in 2020. PC and Nintendo Switch versions will launch on April 9, 2021, alongside the Stadia release.
