Phantasy Star Online 2 Luster Update Released

Sega has released a new content update for MMORPG Phantasy Star Online 2. The update adds a new Scion class, Luster, as well as a level cap increase to 100, the sixth chapter of the Episode 6 story, and other content.

The Luster class is a high-speed class that uses gunblades. It comes with three forms: the Zandi Style is available with wind or lightning weapons and focuses on agility and AOE attacks, the aggressive Fomel Style requires fire or dark weapons and is effective in close combat, and the defensive Baran Style requires ice or light weapons and utilises long-range attacks. The class is available for players that have reached level 75 with two different classes.

In addition to the new main story content, players can challenge themselves with new Ultra-Hard Urgent Quests, The Malevolent Void and The Call of the Void. There are also two Extreme Quests, Extreme Training: Risk Realm and Elite Training: Risk Realm.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is currently available in North America and over thirty other countries on Xbox One and PC. The game was originally released for PC in Japan in 2012, with versions later made available for PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The game, and its predecessor Phantasy Star Online, are spin-offs to the main Phantasy Star series, taking place in a separate galaxy. A new title, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, was announced in 2020 and is expected to launch this year.
