Ruined King: A League of Legends Story Gameplay Trailer Bubbles to the Surface

Publisher Riot Forge has released a gameplay trailer for Airship Syndicate’s upcoming turn-based Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. The two-minute narrated trailer features character introductions for each of the game’s roster of six League of Legends champions — Miss Fortune, Illaoi, Braum, Yasuo, Ahri, and Pyke — as well as combat and exploration footage. The game is a spin-off set in the League of Legends universe and takes place in the port town of Bilgewater and the Shadow Isles, which are surrounded by cursed Black Mist that corrupts those who come into contact with it.

The game’s combat features a turn-based lane initiative system, in which champions take turns casting lane, instant, and ultimate abilities. Each champion will have access to two Dungeon Skills that assist them in initiating favorable combat, interact with creatures, or manipulate the environment in some way. While each champion fits into an established genre class mold, the option to upgrade runes and abilities, as well as three accessory slots each, allow for character customization to create a team that gels together. A bounty board, fishing mini-game, and battle arena are some of the activities players can participate in while exploring Bilgewater and the Shadow Isles. Ruined King: A League of Legends Story will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X sometime in 2021.
