Sword of the Necromancer Demo, Next-Gen Console Versions Announced

JanduSoft and Grimorio of Games have announced a demo version of Sword of the Necromancer will be available during the Gamescom 2020 digital event. The demo will let players face the game’s first dungeon and boss and will be available to download from the game’s Steam page from 10pm CEST today until midnight CEST on August 30, 2020. The companies also revealed that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions will join the previously-confirmed PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions when Sword of the Necromancer launches later this year.

Sword of the Necromancer follows Tama, a rogue tasked with escorting priestess Koko on her continental pilgrimage. Unfortunately, Koko dies on their travels, and Tama carries her body to the Necromancer’s crypt, where the power to resurrect the dead is said to lie. In addition to using fallen enemies to fight, Tama also has access to numerous weapon types. Two-player local co-op can also be unlocked through an item called the Flask of the Homunculus, which creates a copy of Tama. The copy has access to all of Tama’s abilities except for being able to revive enemy monsters.
