Sword of the Necromancer Announced

Developer Grimorio of Games has announced Sword of the Necromancer, a dungeon-crawling roguelite RPG that will be heading to the Nintendo Switch and PC. The Switch version will also utilize the Joy-Con IR camera to scan codes for unique items. Sword of the Necromancer will support English, Spanish, and Catalan languages. No timetable for the game’s release was announced, but a gameplay trailer and a demonstration of the scanner in action are provided below.

Sword of the Necromancer sees protagonist Tama finding the titular sword that has the power of resurrection. Tama needs the sword’s powers in order to save her love Koko, and must venture into a dungeon and defeat the Necromancer himself in order to save her soul. The sword allows Tama to revive fallen enemies to fight on her behalf, but Tama will also be able to equip different weapons she finds. Tama gains levels as she defeats enemies, but if she falls in combat she loses all of her equipment and half of the levels she gained.
