Baldur’s Gate III Worms Its Way to Early Access Release Date
Larian Studios held a “Panel From Hell” in which they announced the Early Access date for Baldur’s Gate III. The first act of the title will arrive on PC and Google Stadia on September 30, 2020. An extended CG opening was also presented, revealing that after having been implanted by a Mind Flayer, players will begin the game in Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells.
When the game arrives in Early Access, players will have the choice of five Origin characters — Astarion, the vampiric Elf Rogue; Gale, the Human Wizard; Lae’zel, the Githyanki Warrior; Shadowheart, the Half-Elf Cleric; and Wyll, the Human Warlock — in addition to custom characters. Larian also compared the size of the first act of its last game, Divinity: Original Sin II, and the first act of Baldur’s Gate III, with the latter having over three times as many combat encounters and NPCs and more than double the number of lines of dialogue and unique spells and action
