Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis Announced

During the Xbox Games Showcase, Sega announced Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. The release is billed as “the latest entry in the PSO2 series”. It is not fully clear what content the game will include, but it will feature updated game systems and graphics. Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is currently planned for release in 2021 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows 10 in North America, and for PC and PlayStation 4 in Japan. Japan will also receive cloud versions for Nintendo Switch and PC.

Phantasy Star Online 2 was originally released for PC in Japan in 2012, with versions later made available for PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The game, and its predecessor Phantasy Star Online, are spin-offs to the main Phantasy Star series, taking place in a separate galaxy. Phantasy Star Online 2 is currently available in North America for Xbox One and Windows 10.
