Baldur’s Gate III Gets New Gameplay Stream
Larian Studios’ Swen Vincke hosted a gameplay livestream for Baldur’s Gate III to kick off the D&D Live 2020 event that runs from today until June 20, 2020. In the 90-minute stream, he went over some of the additions and changes made to the game since its previous livestream in February 2020. These include the switch of the narrator to now being in present tense and second person, an altered initiative system that offers more flexibility when party members have the same initiative roles, the inspiration system that lets players re-roll dice, and how characters in the game will react to player choices and their character pasts.
Baldur’s Gate III is based on the latest fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons ruleset. The game will be playable in single-player or with friends and will feature a focus on player freedom and high-stakes decisions. Baldur’s Gate III is being developed for PC and Google Stadia. An Early Access version is currently planned to be released in August 2020.
