Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition New Features Detailed

Nintendo and Monolith Soft have provided more details on some of the new features and content included in the Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. The first details concern the new Future Connected epilogue. The epilogue, which is available to play at any time but is designed for those who have completed the main game, follows Shulk and Melia as they explore the Bionis’ Shoulder, a location not visited in the main game. Future Connected includes a group of Nopon researchers called the Ponspectors. There are twelve Ponspectors, and players can get them to join in battles by completing their requests, such as finding a dropped item.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will also include a new Time Attack mode. As its name suggests, the mode tasks players with defeating monsters as quickly as possible. It can be accessed from glowing points, with one shown in Colony 9, with players receiving a Noponstone item based on their score. These Noponstones can be traded for equipment and Gems.

An Events Theater is another new option, letting players view previously-witnessed scenes from both the main game and Future Connected. The mode can be accessed from the start screen of each. Players will be able to adjust the event scenes, changing the time of day and weather the event takes place during, as well as character outfits.

Finally, the Definitive Edition will add new leveling options for players, similar to those in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Rather than characters automatically leveling up, players will be able to give themselves an additional challenge by choosing to de-level them, with the experience points from those levels going into stock so characters can re-level up later.
