Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Third Update Out Now, Alatreon Debuting Next

The third free update for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The update — which also launches for PC on April 8, 2020 — adds fights against the Furious Rajang and Raging Brachydios variant monsters. It also includes new layered weapons, where players can alter a weapon’s appearance without changing its stats, as well as other system additions and a new Seliana seasonal event, which will activate once the PC version of the update releases.

Capcom also announced that the Elder Dragon Alatreon will be making its debut in the game in the next update, which is set to release in May 2020 on both PC and consoles. Meanwhile, April will see the addition of a Master Rank mission for Kulve Taroth and the arrival of the Arch-Tempered Namielle variant monster.

Iceborne is an expansion to Monster Hunter: World that takes players to the frozen region of Hoarfrost Reach. In addition to the new area, Iceborne includes higher-difficulty Master Rank quests, new foes, and new abilities and tactical options. The expansion was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2019, while its PC version launched on January 9, 2020.
