Morgana’s Latest Travel Report Details Persona 5 Scramble’s Okinawa

Following its release of the second official trailer for Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, Atlus unveiled the fourth video in its Morgana’s Travel Report series as well as some accompanying screenshots. The newest video focuses on the region of Okinawa, one of a number of places across Japan that the Phantom Thieves visit as part of their adventures.

The game will see the Phantom Thieves visit Kuukojima, a resort island just off the coast of Okinawa’s main island. The group hopes to use the visit as a quick rest from their adventures, but soon uncover a Jail (an otherwordly dungeon similar to Palaces from Persona 5) after witnessing strange behaviour from the locals. Okinawa’s Jail is a research laboratory that has been abandoned and has a horror atmosphere.

The report also provides some additional gameplay info. In Jails, players can use a special ability to move to high ground or take cover. Players can use these to sneak up on enemies for surprise attacks. Jails will also contain locked doors, which can be unlocked with a short mission where players protect their navigator while they hack open the door.

Persona 5 Scramble will include a cooking system, where players can make food from collected ingredients. Food made can be used in the same manner as regular items, with recipes obtained from shops and events. The game will also include sidequests that come in the form of requests from numerous characters, which provide rewards when completed.

Persona 5 Scramble is an action RPG spin-off/sequel being developed by Atlus alongside Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force studio and takes place in the summer following the events of Persona 5 as the Phantom Thieves travel to a number of cities across Japan following a new Palace-related incident.

Update — Atlus has also now released the animated opening to the Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, which can be viewed below alongside the aforementioned screenshots and Travel Report video.

Seems like a direct sequel. It feels like it will be p5-2 but with action combat. I wonder if this is Atlus trying to gauge player interest and reactions to the combat, and maybe do action for Persona 6.
