Azur Lane: Crosswave Screenshots Introduce Some Characters

Idea Factory International released some new screenshots and details for some of the characters in naval battle RPG Azur Lane: Crosswave. The update features four playable characters — Shimakaze, Suruga, Akagi, and Atago — as well as the two support characters Ark Royal and Aoba.

Shimakaze is an up-and-coming rookie ship, or Kansen, in the Sakura Empire. She is known to pick things up quickly, but lacks a sense of danger. Suruga joined the fleet alongside Shimakaze and ends up partnering her in a joint exercise. She attempts to hide her sense of kindness by appearing difficult to approach. Akagi and Atago are both senior members of the fleet. Akagi often freely speaks her mind, even to superiors, while Atago always appears calm and mature, though often needs to hide how scared she is.

Ark Royal and Aoba act in support roles. Ark Royal is a long-time fleet member and is quite bold and often expresses her love of smaller destroyer ships. Aoba is a self-proclaimed journalist, but is not a very successful one. She gathers news and publishes it in a semi-official paper.

Azur Lane: Crosswave is a naval 3D shooter RPG featuring personified battleships, who can transform between ship and human forms. The game is based off the 2017 mobile Chinese game, Azur Lane, and will be released physically and digitally for PlayStation 4 and digitally for PC via Steam in February 2020. Pre-orders for the $99.99 Limited Edition and $49.99 Standard Edition of the game will open on Idea Factory International’s North American online store on January 9, 2020. The PlayStation 4 and Steam Limited Editions, and PlayStation 4 Standard Edition, are currently available to pre-order in Europe from Idea Factory’s European online store.
