Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Releasing in May

Bandai Namco announced that the newest video game in the Sword Art Online franchise, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris, will be released on May 22, 2020. The game will be available for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with pre-orders now open. Those who pre-order will receive the four winning in-game costumes from an original costume design contest, as well as additional in-game currency.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is being developed by Aquria, which previously created Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment and Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization. Alicization Lycoris is loosely based on the main light novel and anime series’ “Alicization” story arc that takes place in the “Underworld”, a virtual world where AIs act like humans.
