Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Additional Story Content Announced

During TGS Online, Bandai Namco announced new content coming to Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris. The game will be receiving free new story content under the Ancient Apostles moniker, each of which will star a returning series heroine. Sinon, Silica, Tiese, and Selka have been confirmed to receive content. The first stars Sinon and is titled Ancient Apostles: Reaper of the Woods. It is set to release in fall 2020 and is written by Violet Evergarden writer Kana Akatsuki.

Bandai Namco also teased the game’s first major DLC expansion. The expansion is titled Blooming of Forget-me-not, though no other details have been released. Those who have purchased the game’s Deluxe Edition and Premium Pass will have access to the expansion.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is loosely based on the main light novel and anime series’ “Alicization” story arc, which takes place in the Underworld, a virtual world where AIs act like humans. The game was released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in July 2020.
