Sign Ups Begin for Phantasy Star Online 2 Closed Beta

Sega has announced that it is accepting sign-ups in North America for its upcoming closed beta test of MMORPG Phantasy Star Online 2 on Xbox One. Those interested in signing up will need to sign up to the Xbox Insider Program and install the Xbox Insider Hub. From the app they will be able to search for Phantasy Star Online 2 and, once found, select join to sign up for the beta. The date and timings for the beta have not yet been announced.

Phantasy Star Online 2 was originally released for PC in Japan in 2012, with versions later made available for PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The game, and its predecessor Phantasy Star Online, are spin-offs to the main Phantasy Star series, taking place in a separate galaxy. At present, the game is only confirmed for release on Xbox One in spring 2020 and on Windows 10 later in 2020, with no confirmation regarding a potential release in Europe. The North American release will be free-to-play without any restrictions and include all content from the Japanese version.
