Fairy Tail Adds Another Trio of Playable Characters

Koei Tecmo and Gust provided more details on the upcoming Fairy Tail RPG. The update, accompanied by a new batch of screenshots, reveals three more playable characters in the game — Laxus Dreyar, Mirajane Strauss, and Jellal Fernandes — and provides a look at some of the events appearing in the game.

On top of the main story, Fairy Tail will include original stories where the characters interact. These stories will let those characters rise in rank, which lets them use new skills. Examples of some of these events include Ezra being given a letter to meet Minerva alone in a forest, and Laxus being duped by Mirajane into helping prepare for the harvest festival. As characters continue to fight in the same party, their bonds will increase and lead to further conversations.

Fairy Tail is based on the popular manga and anime series of the same name. The game will tell an original story within the series, where groups of adventurers called guilds earn money and fame by completing job requests. It will be released on March 19, 2020, for PC worldwide and for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan and Europe, with the North American PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch releases following on March 20, 2020.
