Metal Max Xeno Gets Reborn

Kadokawa Games announced three new projects for Metal Max as the series approaches its 30th anniversary in 2021. The first project is a remake of 2018 title Metal Max Xeno. Metal Max Xeno: Reborn is said to be a complete revamp of the entire game, including its engine and systems. It will also include the return of series regular Pochi the battle dog. Metal Max Xeno: Reborn is being developed for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, and is set to be released in Japan this winter.

The second title announced is Metal Max Xeno: Reborn 2, a sequel to the aforementioned remake. Little is known about the game at present, but the words “hard” and “survival” will play key themes. Metal Max Xeno: Reborn 2 is also being developed for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, and is set to be released in Japan sometime in 2020.

The third and final project is currently known as Code Zero. The game appears to be a reboot for the series, going all the way back to the original Metal Max game released in 1991 for the Famicom. Neither platforms nor a release window have been announced for Code Zero.
