1C Entertainment Announces King’s Bounty 2

Publisher and developer 1C Entertainment has announced King’s Bounty 2, a new entry in the turn-based tactical series. The game takes place in the world of Antara, with players controlling one of three heroes, each with their own story, in a non-linear campaign as a blight descends upon the land.

King’s Bounty 2 features turn-based tactical battles on a hex-based map with players and enemies fielding multiple squads. The game’s character development is based around alignments on four different ideals: Strength, Art, Order, and Anarchy. King’s Bounty 2 is being developed for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and is set to be released sometime in 2020.

The King’s Bounty series began with the original title released for PC in 1990, which was designed by Might & Magic series creator Jon Van Canegham. A Sega Genesis version, with significant changes, was released in 1991. A spiritual sequel to the original game, King’s Bounty: The Legend, was released for PC and Mac in 2008, with its engine used for further sequels King’s Bounty: Armored Princess, King’s Bounty: Warriors of the North, and King’s Bounty: Dark Side.

Hex-based battles with visuals showing the size of the squad? Pretty cool.
