Persona 5 Royal Trailer Focuses on Ryuji

Atlus has released a new Japanese trailer for Persona 5 Royal. The two-minute video focuses on Ryuji Sakamoto, the first party member outside of the player-controlled protagonist. The video confirms that Persona 5 Royal gives each party member an extra persona evolution — similar to Persona 4 Golden — with Ryuji’s third persona being William (a likely extension of his original Captain Kidd persona, based off the historical figure William Kidd). It also shows a new combination attack between Ryuji and Yosuke.

Persona 5 Royal will continue the game into the third semester of the school year in Japan, which runs from January to April. It will also add new locations, new events, new combat strategies, and other features. The game will be released in Japan for PlayStation 4 on October 31, 2019, before coming to North America and Europe in 2020.
