Final Fantasy VIII Remaster Coming This Year

During its E3 presentation, Square Enix announced that it will be releasing a remastered version of Final Fantasy VIII. The remaster with newly-rendered visuals will be available later this year for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Final Fantasy VIII was originally released for PlayStation in 1999, with a PC version released in 2000. The game follows Squall, a member of a mercenary force named SeeD, who ends up joining forces with Rinoa Heartilly and the resistance in the military nation of Galbadia.
