Yo-kai Watch 4 Releasing in Japan in June; New Trailer, Details Released

Level-5 has announced that Yo-kai Watch 4 will be released for Nintendo Switch in Japan on June 6, 2019. The company also released the third official trailer for the game, viewable below, and provided new details about the game on its newly-relaunched website.

Yo-kai Watch 4 features a story that crosses over across four worlds. The first world is the modern-way world of regular protagonist Keita (Nate in English). He receives a key from the Crank-a-Kai at the Omori Shrine and find a door that leads to a world thirty years in the future. In this world is Natsume, Keita’s future daughter, who investigates mysteries in her town as part of a Yo-kai detective team. The third world is set in the 1960s and features Shin, who previously appeared in the movie Yo-kai Watch: Forever Friends. The final world is the mysterious world of Yo-makai.

With the game moving the series from Nintendo 3DS to Nintendo Switch, Yo-kai Watch 4 will also feature gameplay changes. These include a revamped combat system and new elements that were detailed earlier this year. There is currently no new regarding a western release, though the previous title, Yo-kai Watch 3, was recently released in North America and Europe.
