Trendy Entertainment Rebrands, Begins Dungeon Defenders: Awakened Crowdfunding Campaign

Dungeon Defenders developer Trendy Entertainment has announced that it is rebranding as Chromatic Games. The move comes as part of a new vision from Augi Lye, one of the original co-founders of Trendy Entertainment and now CEO at Chromatic Games, and Colin Fisher, a key member of the Dungeon Defenders development staff and the new Creative Director.

In addition to the rebrand, Chromatic Games has announced its follow-up to Dungeon Defenders. Titled Dungeon Defenders: Awakened, the new title is currently undergoing a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. The game is said to offer a complete reimagining of the original’s combination of action RPG mechanics and tower defence strategy. Players are tasked with defending their castle from hordes of enemies, while visiting other locations as the chase down the evil Harbinger.

Chromatic Games is looking for $250,000 in funding for Dungeon Defenders: Awakened, with the campaign set to run until April 3, 2019. The game is currently planned for release in late 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with those who pledge at least $20 receiving a copy of the game as part of their backer rewards.
