Larian Studios Announces Divinity: Fallen Heroes

Larian Studios has announced a new title in the Divinity series, Divinity: Fallen Heroes. The game is a strategy RPG that acts as a sequel to Divinity: Original Sin II and is being developed by Larian Studios and Expeditions developer Logic Artists.

Sometime after the events of Original Sin II, a new threat descends on Rivellon. Tasked with dealing with the threat, players control either the Godwoken from the previous game or a brand-new character, leading their forces from the ship Lady Vengeance. New and existing heroes are at their disposal, including Malady, Fane, Ifan, Lohse, Sebille, Red Emperor, and Beast. Players will need to manage their heroes and keep up morale.

Divinity: Fallen Heroes will take players to new locations, including the deserts of the Lizard Empire and the snowy Dwarven Kingdom. The game will feature over sixty missions, with decisions affecting how the story plays out. The combat system is a revamped version of the one in Divinity: Original Sin II and introduces new firearm weapon types alongside the new Sulfurium environmental surface. Players will also be able to research new technology and choose form over thirty unit types.

Divinity: Fallen Heroes will be playable at this weekend’s PAX East in Boston. The game is currently planned for release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One later this year.
