Expeditions: Rome Receives Demo

THQ Nordic and Logic Artists released a free demo for tactical RPG Expeditions: Rome. The demo is available to download via Steam and lets players access the start of the game’s Greece campaign act, offering around four hours of content. Progression from the demo can be transferred to the main game when it launches.

In addition, the companies announced a Twitch streaming extension for the game designed to allow audience impact. During combat, stream audiences can directly influence the encounter by directing AI targets, healing enemy or streamer combatants, re-naming units, and more. Audiences can also vote about dialogue choices, check the streamer’s party stats and quest log, and send care packages.

Expeditions: Rome puts players in the role of a customised Legatus in the late Roman Republic. After their father is murdered by a political opponent, players escape Rome and join a campaign to subdue a Greek rebellion. As they strengthen their position and abilities, players have the opportunity to make numerous choices that affect how the game’s story plays out. Expeditions: Rome will release for PC via Steam and GOG.com on January 20, 2022, priced at $44.99/€44.99/£36.99 with a 20% pre-order discount.
