Romancing SaGa 3 Remake Hits Japan Early 2019, Romancing SaGa Re: Universe Announced

Square Enix has announced that its remake of Romancing SaGa 3 will be released in Japan in early 2019. The company also revealed various new platforms for the game on top of its previously announced PlayStation Vita, iOS, and Android versions with it also heading to PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. A western release has not been officially announced, but producer Akitoshi Kawazu has stated that one is planned.

Romancing SaGa 3 is the sixth title in the SaGa series, which began with Final Fantasy Legend. The game was originally released in Japan in 1995 for the Super Famicom and has never been released in English. The remake of its precedessor, Romancing SaGa 2, was released for iOS and Android in 2016 and for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Windows 10 in 2017.

In addition, Square Enix also announced smartphone title Romancing SaGa Re: Universe, the first brand new entry for the series in twenty-five years. Re: Universe is set 300 years after Romancing SaGa 2, and feature characters from the previous games. The game will be a free-to-play title and available in Japan on iOS and Android, though a date was not announced.

    I hope it comes to US. This is the best in the romancing or SAGA series. Hands down. I want this in english dub very very badly. One of the best games on super famicom

    Romancing Saga 2 for Steam turned out to be a pretty mediocre and ugly por of the mobile version, so I’m not hoping any better for this one…
    Why won’t SE release their GOOD games like FF Tactics or the PSP version of Tactics ogre? It’s just a nobrainer…
