“Always play SaGa?” OK, I’ll play more Revenant Saga later tonight.

I’ve been wondering, how on earth did video game publisher Kemco establish themselves as a mobile-retro-RPG factory? What caused Kemco USA to be shut down, and does it matter? How much blame does Kemco deserve for the rise of paid RPGs with in-game purchases?

Have you ever paid real-life money for an in-game power-up in any paid RPG? I’m not including DLC power-ups that come as a bonus with the purchase price, like Dragon Quest XI’s code for extra seeds of skill. I mean in-game purchases of anything from exp boosters, to useful battle items, to special maps one can easily grind gold/exp on, to super-powered Personas.

If you have paid real-life money for a DLC power-up, then why did you do it? Did you feel it was worth the money? If you haven’t, then what (if anything) could or would induce you to do it?
