Pokémon: Let’s Go Details New Partner Features
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have released new details and media regarding players’ partner Pokémon in Pokémon: Let’s Go! Pikachu and Let’s Go! Eevee. The Pikachu or Eevee — depending on which version is purchased — that players receive at the start of the game will be able to learn Secret Techniques, which take the place of Hidden Moves, and allow players to cut down trees, glide across water, or return to previously visited towns.
In addition, the partner Pokémon will also learn unique moves. Once the player’s relationship with their partner reaches a certain level, it will indicate when it is ready to use one of these exclusive moves. Examples of the moves include Pikachu’s Splishy Splash, a Water-type move that can paralyse the opponent, and Eevee’s Sizzly Slide, a Fire-type move that can also cause burning on the opponent.
Players can also spend time outside of battle interacting with their partner and building up their relationship. In handheld mode, this involves players using the touchscreen to directly interact with them. As a result of building up their relationship, the partner Pokémon may present the player with gifts.
In addition, Nintendo revealed that is it releasing a special Nintendo Switch console bundle. The bundle includes a Nintendo Switch with special Pikachu and Eevee decals, plus Pikachu and Eevee colour Joy-Cons, a digital copy of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, and a Poké Ball Plus.
