The Division 2 Receives More Details, Additional Videos

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 put in a significant appearance during Ubisoft’s E3 showcase as well as its post-show presentation, with several more details and plenty of additional footage provided. As previously detailed, the sequel takes place in Washington D.C. with players once again controlling government sleeper agents who are activated following the viral pandemic outbreak to try and return order to the nation.

Following feedback to the first game, The Division 2 has been created with a focus on its end-game, though the title will still feature a “robust” campaign that leads into the end-game. Once players reach level 30 in The Division 2, they can select a Specialization — sharpshooter, demolitionist, or survivalist — that comes with its own progression path. These paths unlock new skill mods, talents, and tools, as well as new signature weapons such as an explosive crossbow. The game will also feature the PvP Dark Zone from the first game, though this has been revamped for the sequel, as well as brand-new eight-player raids.

Ubisoft also announced some post-launch plans. The game will receive three pieces of DLC across its first year, each adding new story, areas, and activities. These add-ons will be available for free, but there will be an optional premium pass that provides other exclusive add-ons.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is set to be released on March 15, 2019, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Those interested can sign-up now for an upcoming beta.
