The Division Returns to New York in Upcoming Expansion
Ubisoft announced its latest expansion for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, titled Warlords of New York. As its title suggests, the expansion will return players to the setting of the first game, as they hunt down Aaron Keener, a former Division Agent who has turned rogue. The hunt will take players into Lower Manhattan, which was recently hit by a devastating hurricane, as well as Two Bridges, Chinatown, and Wall Street.
Warlords of New York will launch on March 3, 2020. Existing players will be able to purchase it separately, and it will also be included along with the base game in new Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition bundles. Players will need to be level 30 and World Tier 5 to access Warlords of New York, but the bundles will come with a level boost that allows new players to jump straight into the expansion.
Warlords of New York will increase the level cap from 30 to 40, add a new “infinite” SHD level progression system, and add four new skills, as well as more weapons and gear. Ubisoft will also release additional end-game events called Seasons, each of which runs for three months. The first will begin one week after the launch of Warlords of New York.
Along with the new expansion, Ubisoft will release a new update for the game that will feature an overhaul of the game’s RPG systems, including inventory management and UI. It will also include attempts to revitalise Dark Zones in the base game, using a simpler rogue mechanic and being more rewarding to player-to-player interactions. Finally, Ubisoft this week released the final part in its Year 1 post-launch content plan. “Episode 3 – Coney Island: The Hunt” adds two new main missions, two new classified assignments, a new specialisation, and more.
