Star Ocean: Anamnesis Western Release Set for July

Square Enix has announced that the free-to-play mobile RPG Star Ocean: Amanesis will be released in North America and Europe for iOS and Android this July. The game, which was originally released in Japan in December 2016, will receive a closed beta test on iOS through Apple Testflight, with applications open until June 13, 2018. There is also a pre-registration campaign, which will unlock bonuses when the game launches.

Star Ocean: Anamnesis is set two years after the events of Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness, with players controlling the captain of Federation starship GFSS-3214F. After a pirate attack leaves the ship crippled, the crew uses the escape pods, leaving behind the captain and robot AI named Coro, who decide to activate the malfunctioning hyperdrive. After being teleported to a desert planet, the player comes across a woman name Evelysse, who is able to escape from a monster using her special magic that summons heroes from elsewhere in time and space (i.e. various characters of other Star Ocean games). The player and Evelysse team up to begin the long journey back to Earth.

  1. Glad this is coming west, I hope this mobile title does well, for the sake of Star Ocean.
