Yakuza 4 Gets PS4 Release Date in Japan

Sega recently announced that the Yakuza games missing from the PlayStation 4’s library will be heading to the console in Japan, and Yakuza 4  has been given a release date. The remastered version will be launching January 17, 2019. Yakuza 3 was the first of the remaining games to release on the Sony console in August of 2018. Yakuza 5 is expected to release in the spring of 2019.

The Yakuza series follows the exploits of Kazuma Kiryu, a man with many aliases. Yakuza 4 originally released on the PlayStation 3 in 2010, and eventually made its way to other markets in 2011. The content included remains the same, but the game will be getting an improvement to the framerate as well as upscaled graphics. One change of note deals with the voice actor who played Masayoshi Tanimura. Hiroki Narimiya, the actor who voiced Masayoshi has since retired from voice acting. The character model for Masayoshi will be slightly altered and now Toshiki Masuda will be playing his part in the game.
