Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity Finale Update Launching Next Week

ArenaNet announced that its final planned update for Guild Wars 2‘s Visions of Eternity expansion will release on September 15, 2026. The “Code of Creation” update will provide the climax of the expansion’s storyline, taking players to the new explorable zone of Leyspring Hollows. The expansion is currently available for $24.99, with those who purchase it gaining immediate access to all of its currently available content.

The update includes various new rewards for players to earn, including the Tenebral Ward armor, Shining Ward weapon set, new relics, a new season in the Wizard’s Vault, the Wages of Stars legendary sword, and a new Volatile Ascension infusion. Additional group content features the Nexus of Eternity, a new ten-player Raid Encounter with Challenge and Legendary Modes to be released in the weeks after launch; the new Solitary Throne fractal for up to five players, with a Challenge Mode releasing a few weeks later; and a new Convergence, Nexus of Eternity, for up to fifty players.

Guild Wars 2 is set 250 years after the events of the original Guild Wars. It was originally released in 2012, becoming available on Steam in 2022. The game and expansions are available as buy-to-play titles. Visions of Eternity is the game’s sixth expansion and sees players investigate rumors of an island rich with magic known as Castora. The Tyrian Alliance learns that a group of researchers known to cause danger around Tyria called the Inquest is in search of this island. Players set off on a new adventure to try and learn what the Inquest’s goals with the island are.
