Annihilated Release Pushed Back

Publisher Flashlight Games and developer Death Kumiai announced that they have delayed the release of dark story-rich RPG Annihilated. Previously planned to release for PC via Steam on July 22, 2026, the game is now set to launch in Q4 2026. Messages from the publisher and development team can be found below.

Annihilated is set after the hero’s party is annihilated, with players able to save one character, though they are broken in some way with the Hero losing their words, the Mage losing their magic, the Warrior losing their body, and the Priest losing something redacted. The game features card-based battles where timed button presses play a major role. The game will include player choices with multiple endings, random events, roguelite-style dungeon crawling, and the ability for players to shatter their weapon to deal more damage.

Flashlight Games —

Development is in its final stages, and the team has been polishing the game towards the July 22 release. However, we have made the decision to take additional time for final adjustments — refining the overall game feel and fine-tuning the battle balance for a smoother experience — so that we can deliver the game at the level of quality it deserves.

We sincerely apologize to everyone who has been looking forward to the game, as well as to the media outlets and content creators who have covered it to date.

During this final phase, we plan to release an updated demo and once again invite feedback from players.

In return for the wait, the entire team is committed to making Annihilated a game that lives up to your expectations at launch.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Death Kumiai —

To everyone waiting for Annihilated

We know some of you have been saying, “It’s out this month — can’t wait!” — which makes this announcement all the more painful to write.

Here’s the honest truth: the game has already passed Steam’s review process, and we absolutely could finish bug-checking and ship the game by July 22.

But that launch would have looked something like:

“*gasp* *wheeze* BUGS FIXED!!! OKAY, SHIP IT NOW!!!!”

…and that’s not the launch this game deserves.

What we couldn’t fit in was the time after completion for the whole team to play the game over and over and fine-tune all the little details of the balance. That’s the time we’re asking for.

The delay window may look wide, but that’s only because we’d rather promise carefully and deliver early — we’re doing everything we can to get it to you as soon as possible. Please don’t worry on that front.

We’d be truly grateful if you could give us just a little more time.

Thank you for your patience and continued support — we are looking forward to share what we’ve been working on!
