Xenoblade Genesis Announced

Nintendo and Monolith Soft have announced Xenoblade Genesis. The game is planned to release exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027, with its first screenshots and trailer viewable below.

It is not clear if Xenoblade Genesis is directly connected to the Xenoblade Chronicles, with the game eschewing the Chronicles moniker and being noted as “a new beginning for the Xenoblade series”. The trailer initially appears to show more of a fantasy-style setting than previous Xenoblade games, which is permeated by a force called Anima. Its characters are shown in a location called Leukos, where they appear to be training to become Vesselai, warriors who can wield the power of Anima.
