Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Releasing in September

Nintendo announced that Intelligent System’s latest entry in the Fire Emblem tactical RPG series, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, will release on September 17, 2026. The game will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2, including in a special Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Dagdan Collection Edition that feature a steel game case, character art cards, a map of Dagda, and an art book.

Nintendo also provided the first details on the game’s setting, story, and gameplay loop. The game is set in the Dagdan Empire on the continent of Dagda, which is far to the southwest of Fire Emblem: Three Houses‘s setting of Fódlan. Its events see warriors flock to the capital city Dagsion in order to compete in the Heroic Games, with the winner being granted a wish.

The game follows four heroes on their separate paths to winning the Heroic Games. Cai is a young boy from Riberia village seeking to save his father from imprisonment. Dietrich is an elegant swordsman ever seeking stronger opponents. Theodora is the Queen of the Saramis Kingdom, looking to fulfill the dream of her homeland. Leda is a musician seeking revenge.

Between matches in the arena, players have a variety of ways to power up their forces. They can improve character techniques at the training grounds, recruit new allies, or travel beyond the capital walls and gain experience by fighting bandits and monsters or exploring dungeons. However, players have a limited amount of time in which to prepare.
