Deadhaus Sonata Launching in Early Access Today

Apocalypse Studios announced that action RPG Deadhaus Sonata is releasing on Steam Early Access later today. The game is being directed by former Silicon Knights founder Denis Dyack, who previously directed Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem. It is expected to spend around eighteen months in Early Access. While the Early Access version will be paid, the full version is planned to be free-to-play with cosmetic microtransactions, with those who purchase the Early Access version granted bonus cosmetics and exclusive cosmetic items.

Deadhaus Sonata is set in Malorum, a dark and crumbling world where the lines between life and death no longer hold. Players play as undead vampires battling against the living in single player or multiplayer co-op for up to six players, with the full version of the game planned to include seven playable classes. The game’s combat is said to reward timing, positioning, and decision-making as players utilise their supernatural powers. It features a tarot-based skill system, with each card representing arcane power and earned through quests, battles, and exploration.
