Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.3 Launching October 15

HoYoverse announced the release date for Zenless Zone Zero‘s Version 2.3 update. Titled “Memories of Dreams Bygone”, the update will be available on October 15, 2025. It adds a new story arc that comes with new locations, three new agents, upgraded events, new outfits, and more. In addition, the company teased the addition of more agents in future updates, namely Banyue, Dialyn, Zhao, and Ye Shunguang.

The new story arc is set in the Timesworn Hills region, known for its abundant Lumite ore deposits and local ghost stories. It sees players working with agents of Spook Shack to investigate missing miners and Porcelumex employees. The update adds three agents from Spook Shack: Lucia, Yidhari, and Komano Manato. Lucia is an S-Rank Ether Support Agent who makes use of Dream Points she can expend to boost all allies’ max HP, raise their damage, and trigger Aftershocks. Yidhari, an S-Rank Ice Rupture Agent, has ice attacks that always inflict Sheer damage, and sees her damage increasing as her HP drop. Komano Manato is an A-Rank Fire Rupture Agent, whose strikes scale from his own HP and deal Sheer damage.

New gameplay additions include “Threshold Simulation” where players deploy and control multiple squads during interconnected tactical battle scenarios. The event “When Dreams Remain Unfinished” lets players command various monsters with unique traits in turn-based combat. Completing the event grants agent Manato as a free reward.

Zenless Zone Zero is an action RPG set in the post-apocalyptic metropolitan city of New Eridu and is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android. The city is the only place to have survived a supernatural disaster in which gateways to perilous dimensions called Hollows appear and expand. Players control Proxies, those who guide others exploring the Hollows.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
